Alistair here — I’d love to share our vision for the future as well as some major updates.
Alistair Michener

Drawboard was created over 7 years ago as a passion project to help the world depend less on wasteful printed paper by introducing a smoother digital experience. This passion hasn't changed and our vision for the future has only become clearer and stronger.

Today, 7 years later, I'm excited to share some of our largest updates to date that work towards helping us achieve our vision of creating a world that works, without paper. We want PDF and notetaking to be simple and easy, but with the ability to help you accomplish advanced tasks too. We want people to be able to seamlessly collaborate without confusion, and to build, store and share PDFs in a way that just works - all without any paper in sight.

Some of the changes that you'll see:

  • Our Windows 10 app has a brand new layout, and a new major feature called Store+Share.
  • Drawboard PDF is now available as a web app that you can access in any web browser.
  • We have a new iOS app for Drawboard PDF coming later this year.
  • New company wide look and feel. This also includes a new look for Drawboard Projects, our collaborative workspace for design & construction teams.

If you want to hear more about these changes, I'II go into a bit more detail below.

After speaking to a lot of our customers, we know that these days people expect a pretty streamlined experience so they can work on the move and as efficiently as possible.

Store+Share is all about addressing this need and making your work accessible, anywhere - in real-time.

  • Store: Upload your PDFs to the Drawboard PDF cloud and access your documents from anywhere, across multiple devices.
  • Share: Securely share your PDF files with anyone with an instantly shareable link.

We've rebuilt some other things in Drawboard PDF so it's easier to use and you can spend time on the work that matters. You'll notice changes to the Drawboard PDF toolbar menu, the document canvas and the dashboard.

Drawboard PDF will continue to transform over time as we work hard to meet evolving customer needs so we invite you to try the new things and let us know what you think of the changes.

We'd love for you to be one of the first users to check out Store+Share. We've been working on this update for the last couple of years, and it's important to us that it's accessible. That's why we made the decision to give everyone the ability to store up to 10 documents for free. If you're already a Drawboard PDF user you can skip the queue and get the update now.

Drawboard PDF web app

We're excited to announce that you can now access Drawboard PDF in any web browser as a web app.

We’ve designed this new platform to make sharing and collaborating even easier. Whether you are in our Windows 10 app, Windows 11 app or using the web app, it's easy to go between the two.

The Drawboard PDF web app is available at pdf.drawboard.com.

Drawboard PDF iOS app

The Drawboard PDF iOS app will be available later this year, but you can sign up for early access to our private Beta.

We're looking forward to working together to help create a world that works without paper.

Kind Regards,

Founder + CEO
