From the ability to save and store annotations and create blank drawings to enhanced workspace and admin capabilities, let’s dive into some of 2023's new and upcoming features on Drawboard Projects.
Drawboard
The Drawboard Projects team has been working hard to bring teams the tools and capabilities that will help them to streamline coordination and get reviews done faster.
We’ve released a range of features in the last few months that are designed to:
Service teams as they scale
Serve large, complex teams in streamlining coordination
Help teams to mark up drawings more seamlessly and
Improve review quality for customers
Before we jump into what's coming soon, let’s dive into some of the latest features and capabilities that we’ve released on Drawboard Projects in 2023.
Personal and Project Markup Libraries
Teams can save, store and categorize annotations in Personal and Project Markup Libraries. Build your own libraries of markups and access them at any time. (Now available on the web and iOS apps)
The personal and project Markup Libraries in Drawboard Projects are designed to help teams mark up quicker and get reviews done faster. Every user has their own Personal Markup Library and every project has their own Project Markup Library.
Project Markup Libraries can save larger teams a great deal of time, as one person can create all the markup elements needed for the project at-hand and the rest of the team can re-use them with no additional effort.
Users can tag their markups by category - like heating & cooling, electrical and mechanical, company annotations and more - so that every team member and contributor can easily find the annotations they need when they need them. To organize their Markup Libraries, users can sort and search annotations by tag or by name and can transfer markups from library to library with easy import/export functionality.
Blank drawings are perfect for team whiteboarding, for creating quick drafts, writing and managing notes and so much more. Admins can create new blank drawings, choose their paper size and select the page orientation. New blank pages can be left blank or grids and lines can be added before drafting, making notes or marking up.
Paper sizes include A4, A3, A0, Letter, Tabloid and ArchE. This feature is now available on the Windows app and is coming soon to iOS and web.
The Account admin portal
The Account admin portal offers teams more control and flexibility over how they manage their teams and user access.
The Account Admin Portal enables organizations to manage their team access conveniently from one place. Admins can seamlessly invite new team members to their organization’s account, revoke access instantaneously, view all team members and more.
We made big changes to how workspaces work in Drawboard Projects. Workspaces now offer a more flexible way for large and scaling teams to work together.
Admins can:
Use workspaces to manage team and projects more seamlessly
Admins can give and revoke access or change team and external stakeholder permissions at a workspace level which means they can control permissions across multiple projects at once.
All users can:
See at a glance which workspaces are owned by their organization and which have been shared with them by someone from another organization.
Get quick access to the projects that they’re currently working on in Recents
Easily see and open projects that have been shared with them
Additionally, admins can easily switch Project permissions between public and private. With these settings, project, workspace and organization admins have more flexibility over how they give and revoke project access. For example, you can now invite people to a workspace, and give them a workspace-wide role that applies to all public projects in the workspace. They'll automatically have access to any public projects in the workspace with no further steps required.
