Teams can now build and maintain their own custom library of annotations in Drawboard Projects. Create and store engineering symbols, modular units, product types, standardized review markups and more. Add the markups you use regularly and access them at any time, on any drawing or document (currently Web and iOS apps only).

Create a Personal and shared Project Markup Libraries

Your Personal Markup Library is for the markups you use personally. Save the markups you need and apply them whenever you need them. If you use another workstation or an iPad and log in to your account, your Personal library will follow you and be available on any drawing or document in any project. Your Personal Markup Library is private to you - no-one else can see the markups you have saved.

Every project also has its own Project Markup Library, which is available to every member of a Project. The Project Markup Library is designed to save larger teams a great deal of time, as one person can create all the markup elements needed and the rest of the team can re-use them with no additional effort.

With the Markup Libraries users can save ink annotations, lines, arrows and shapes, text boxes and callouts.

Find the annotation you need using tags!

Have a lot of annotations? Dozens? Maybe hundreds? Categorize your markups in a way that works for your team and ensure that your team and contributors can easily search and find what they need when they need it.

The ability to name and tag annotations in the Markup Library is designed to provide teams with flexibility over how they manage their saved markups.

Users can:

  • Tag annotations individually or in bulk
  • Remove tags from saved markups individually or in bulk
  • Sort and search markups by name or tag to easily find the markups you need
  • Move markups between your Personal and Project Markup libraries (note: only admins can edit and move markups in Project Markup libraries.)

Tag your markups by category like heating & cooling, electrical and mechanical, pneumatic and  hydraulic, filters, pumps and lights, company annotations and more. Fill your Markup Libraries with the annotations that are specific to your project and team needs.

Note: Only admins (Project, Workspace and Organization) can add, rename and delete markups from shared Project Markup Libraries as well as move markups between Personal and Project Markup Libraries.

Move saved markups from project to project

Admins can easily transfer saved markups from one project to another with easy export/import functionality. Want to know how transferring markups works? Learn more here or test it out below.

Download these engineering symbols and upload them to your Personal Markup Library or a Project Markup Library that you're an admin on:

Step 1: Download here.

Step 2: Head to your Markup Library in Drawboard Projects (currently Web and iOS apps only)

Step 3: Tap the 3 dots next to the search bar and then Tap Import to Project or Personal!

Your Markup Library is like a storage vault for markups you want to use over and over again. Keep every markup you use regularly at your fingertips. See our support article to learn more or open Drawboard Projects to get started.
