Adding voice notes in Drawboard PDF is quick and intuitive. Once set up, they become a powerful way to deliver context-rich feedback without needing to write everything out.
Here’s how to get started.
Add the Audio Tool to Your Toolbar
If this is your first time using voice notes, you need to find and add the audio tool to your toolbar for easy access.
Fortunately, it’s quick and easy:
Click the ‘+’ icon on your toolbar
Click the “Pro Tools” tab to access the audio tool
Select ‘Audio’ by clicking the ‘+’ in the top-right edge of its icon
While the icon will appear at the bottom of your toolbar, you can always drag it to a different position to help organize your tools by type, workflow, and more.
Place the Audio Tool on Your PDF
Once the speaker icon is on your toolbar in your preferred location, you’re ready to place your voice note. Here’s how:
Select the “Audio” tool from your toolbar, making sure the speaker icon appears next to your cursor
Click anywhere on your PDF to place a voice note
Choose whether to record a new voice note or attach an existing audio file
Select the audio file from your files, or get ready to record your message
Record and Save Your Voice Note
If you’re recording a new voice note, you should see a timer and recording button in the top left of your screen. Once you’re ready, tap the red button to start recording your message.
For the best results, speak clearly and try to keep it concise so listeners can more easily digest your feedback. Also, as you record, check to make sure the microphone icon next to the timer lights up, signaling it’s hearing and recording your voice.
You can pause your recording and pick it back up by pressing record again, or finish the recording with the white stop button.
After you complete your recording, you can play it back with the play button, start over with ‘Restart,’ or save and add it to your PDF.
Once you place the voice note, anyone can click the icon and press ‘Play” to listen to it.
